I grew up in Brighton, England, with my mother who was an underwater model, and my father who was a David Bowie look-a-like/double. Choosing a life behind the camera, I spent time working at some of London's most reputable ad agencies before moving to Amsterdam where I now live with his fiancée and golden retriever.
Outside of work, I spend a healthy amount of time reading about 'dark tourism', with a special interest for hermit kingdoms, nuclear disasters, and cults.
My second favorite hobby is reviewing films. I believe the best ideas come from the films and, much to the frustration of my fiancée will refuse to watch any film rated lower than 7 on IMDB.

'Joe and Jake had my favorite portfolio in the Cream awards so we had to jump and hire them. They have an energy, wit and love for British TV Shows that is completely contagious. I can’t wait to follow their career with complete jealousy.'
Dan Treichel, Executive Creative Director, Saatchi & Saatchi London
'Heston & Butler don't just sound like a 1970s men's label, they're vintage class. They respect craft, and never cease to study its forefathers and mothers. And they’re living proof that genius is 99% perspiration; that great work starts with hard work. They're the first in the office, and the last to leave. The first to interrogate a brief until it gives up gold, the last to give up themselves. And they bring the 1% inspiration too: they refuse to settle for the obvious. They’ll always chase a more interesting question, a more surprising answer. And they will surprise you. The simplest test of all: whenever I heard they were on a brief, it always made me smile.'
Ben Armistead, Chief Strategy Officer, W+K London
